The Purpose and Aims of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfil their potential. A child’s experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances. The EYFS is mandatory for all schools and early years providers in Ofsted registered settings attended by young children which cover the time from their birth to the end of the academic year in which the child has their fifth birthday.
To do this we follow the principles set out in the "Birth to 5 Matters" guidance that has been developed by the Early Years Coalition.
If your child begins their learning journey with us building blocks will be laid to enable the foundations to be completed in their first year at school. We work closely with all local primary schools that children who attend caterpillars move on to to ensure a smooth transition for all our children. If you are at all unsure about any elements of this then please don’t hesitate to ask us!
